What program of study did you attend at Beau Monde Academy of Cosmetology?
Tatum: Esthetics Program! Start Date of September 14, 2017 and Completion Date of December 9, 2017!
What was your inspiration to start a career in the beauty industry?
Tatum: In my early teens and young adult years I dealt with particular skin issues that had me bouncing back and forth between an Esthetician and a Dermatologist. An unfortunate result of these issues led me into a long strand of insecurity that took an unnecessary amount of time to shake. It wasn’t until my skin had cleared up that I began to feel more confident. In retrospect there was never a time where I thought, I’m going to be an Esthetician, but I had the desire to help people. I wanted to be a source that provided balance and self confidence – something that I felt I had missed out on in those earlier years.
Where are you launching your career?
What career goals do you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years?
Tatum: While I love helping clients reach their skincare needs, my professional, long-term goal is to pursue freelance work in Mortuary Makeup. There is something unique in getting to mimic the personality of a deceased individual and replicate those traits through the application of cosmetics. Not only is this a very specific art form, but it is also an opportunity to brighten what would otherwise be a dark day in the life of a loved one.
