History in Accreditation – Only Competency-Based Cosmetology School in America that offers Financial Aid
Beau Monde Academy is proud to have pioneered the model for competency-based education training for cosmetology schools at the national level through the Department of Education and the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences. The state of Oregon through the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission 
has a long history of competency-based training licensing as part of the statute. However, until now, no cosmetology school had ventured to take it to the national level to qualify for offering federal financial aid.
As the first competency-based cosmetology school in America gaining successful accreditation in 2013, Beau Monde Academy went through a rigorous process. To qualify, there was an in-depth review of the curriculum and three separate on-site visits from the national accrediting body before presenting for final approval. Licensing and accreditation at the National level assures a far superior level of education for students as the willingness to go through a national accreditation process alone shows a remarkable commitment to excellence.
